Cruising in styleFor those who love cruising in a luxury atmosphere should definetely read this article ;-).
In this post, I would like to tell you all about our magical experience aboard of the Crystal Symphony.
Let your dreams set sailThe US luxury ship was waiting for us in the port of Zeebrugge to make it head towards the high north with destination Copenhagen. After a warm welcome, I immediately took the elevator to the lido deck where Inge was already waiting for me with a sparkling aperitif and some delicious snacks.
I had nothing to worry about because the helpful and friendly crew took care of my luggage immediately and brought it to our stateroom. The lido deck, situated on the second highest floor soon became “the place to be” of our stay. The colorful umbrellas and unique floral wall immediately set the tone of what we could expect on board of this luxury cruiseship.
Here we could have a drink, breakfast, snack or lunch all day. And the sweet potato fries with coleslaw .... hmmmmm, no further comment :-)
On this deck there also was a pool and a large jacuzzi. Thanks to the great weather we could enjoy lots of sunshine and a soft seabreeze in and around the swimming pool or on one of the comfortable lounge chairs.
Life is better at seaOur stateroom was bright, cosy and spacious and had a beautiful balcony. There was even plenty of closet space for all our clothes and accessories. Believe me, that's a lot :-).
Another huge plus were the two sinks in the bathroom and the high-end Etro bath products. No small soaps and shampoos but nice, large, colorful bottles who gave us instant shower happiness!
Before getting extremely spoiled in one of the chic restaurants, we went to the Palm Court bar for an aperitif. The perfect spot to enjoy a glass of champagne and a breathtaking sunset.
For supper we were welcome in different theme restaurants where we got served as true movie stars. Champagne, caviar, oysters, lobster, Japanese and Italian delights, you name it! On board of the Crystal Symphony they have all what it takes.
The staff, who were perfectly dressed in tuxedos served us with passion and glamour.
After a good night sleep, it was a wonderful awakening thanks to the sea view and rising sun. For breakfast we also had several options. There was a variety of restaurants and bistros with a buffet or a la carte, but you could also order a personalized breakfast for your cabin. The only thing we had to do was fill in the menu before going to bed and put this in the mailbox outside. Our lovely room manager "Rina" took care of the rest.
The best days start with breakfast and vitamin sea
As the final destination of our 4-day cruise was in sight, we left the ship with mixed feelings ... Sad because we had to say goodbye to this incredible ship and magnificent crew members but also very happy because of the fantastic experience we've had and because we could spend an entire day in Denmark’s beautiful capital city, Copenhagen.
During our ride in the shuttle bus with direction city center, Inge and I practiced some Danish sounds, what caused lots of laughter but it was better to keep it in our own language ;-).
As we couldn't skip a visit to the famous Nyhavn with its colorfull houses and charming harbor, we looked for a nice, cosy spot on a terrace (there are several) where we could enjoy a fine lunch while watching flaming tourists and locals while sitting in this in a beautiful scenery.
This cruise was a true magical experience that we can highly recommend you guys.
