Paris

Paris
Invited by the French Queen of Lingerie, Chantal Thomass, Inge and I went to our beloved Paris for 3 days.

We could attend a Authentic Burlesque show in "Le Manko" where her new collection was presented in a very original way, accompanied by a culinary walking dinner and bubbles off course ;-)

What a night!

Lots of quality for a good price

During our trip we stayed at the boutique hotel "Elysées 8", located on a few minutes walk from the famous Champs Elysées.
In this area the hotels are quite expensive but at this hotel you get enormous quality for a very good price.

There was an underground parking in the hotel, which was very convenient as we were with the car. So our Mazda CX-5 could also sleep in style.

A friendly and coquette lady at the front desk handed us the key to a beautiful hotel room on the 7th floor with a fantastic Eiffel tower view! What more could we wish for? Right, nothing! We felt like 2 lucky girls in a beautiful hotel in the middle of our favorite city.

The room was very spacious and had a separate sitting area, a spacious bathroom, a big, comfy bed and very important, a Nespresso coffee corner. Because when we wake up in the morning, the first thing we do, is have some coffee combined with some early girls talk off course ;-)

Another important anecdote is the unique "polkadot staircase" in the hotel ... Super beautiful!

STAIRCASE
Baguettes & Croissants

The breakfast was extensive and delicious. This time we skipped the low fat yoghurt & granola and enjoyed an authentic French baguette with and a warm croissant with jam instead.

Picture perfect at Arc de Triomphe

For good practice, we went for a walk on the Champs Elysées and a short stop at the majestic Arc de Triomphe. Did you know that there is a very good Instagram spot over there?

In front of the Arc de Triomph (if you come from the Champs Elysees) you will notice a circle on the road in front of the monument. That's the place to be for a perfect photo! If you don't see it immediately, take a look around until you see a row of people with camera's waiting to take their shot, well that's the place! :-)

Lunch at Village royale

For lunch we went to Bistro Village, located in the famous Village Royal. A hip and trendy shopping square with cool terraces and shops such as Chanel and Dior. As usual, we ordered a salad with burrata, what else? :-)

Louvre by evening

By the evening it was time for an aperitif with appetizers in one of our favorite places "Café Marly" slanted over the Louvre.

Unlike during the day, it was very quiet in the evening, allowing us to enjoy a magnificent view of the most famous glass pyramid in the world. And this live from the first row on a perfectly heated terrace. Cheers to that i'd say!

For taking pictures, just before sunset is the ideal moment... "L'heure du stress" as they say in French.
Just you and the Louvre and with a little luck a beautiful, colored horizon.
