The 4 must do’s in Majorca

Agriturismo / Luxury villa

Mallorca
And I simply cannot overstate the genuine friendliness of the locals, which truly knows no bounds and makes your stay in this laid-back holiday destination utterly unforgettable! For me, Majorca is the island of smiles that instantly induces those “feel-good” vibes.

During our stay in a beautiful “Belvilla” in the delightful Es Lligats resort we combed the surrounding region in a rental car, discovering a number of unmissable Majorcan hotspots along the way.

COCKTAILS AND DINNER, AND AN ALL-ROUND TREAT FOR THE SENSES

Hotel Son Moll Sentits is a brand new spa / concept hotel that’s dedicated to “sensory pleasure”. Both the interior and exterior of this stylish hotel are an all-round treat for the senses. Indeed, each floor boasts its own subtle fragrance (you can even select a fragrance for your room if desired), and your taste buds are titillated with a tempting range of cocktails and gourmet dishes in the rooftop bar and restaurant, “Attik”.

VAMOS À LA PLAYA

No holiday in Majorca is complete without visiting one or more of the trendy beach clubs that the island is famous for. And, whilst there’s certainly no shortage to choose from, I have an unwavering preference for 2 in particular

These days, I tend to give crowded beach clubs, such as the fashionable Niki and Puro Beach, a wide berth. I prefer more authentic hotspots that are popular with the locals, including Mhares Sea Club and Ponderosa Beach.

Mhares Sea Club

A day spent relaxing by the pool on a Balinese bed with sea views, a refreshing cocktail and a delicious light lunch, is my idea of heaven! So for me, the stylish Mhares Sea Club is an absolute must on any Majorcan itinerary.

PONDEROSA BEACH

If, for you, it's all about relaxation, then Ponderosa beach is the ultimate choice! This bar / restaurant is enviably located directly on the beach, meaning you can sample their delicious menu with your toes in the sand. You might even be forgiven for thinking that you’ve momentarily been transported to exotic Tulum... living proof that you needn’t travel to the other side of the world to discover unique destinations.

STROLLING THE STREETS OF PALMA

The bustling capital of “Palma” is a welcome contrast to the beaches and rustic Majorcan countryside.
This charming city is characterised by a maze of narrow streets and alleyways, lined with authentic buildings and lush greenery.

mallorca citymallorca 2If you’re looking for somewhere to “re-charge your batteries” after all that shopping, then a well-earned drink and a bite to eat at Can Alomar is not to be missed. This chic boutique hotel is also located in the heart of the city centre, making it the perfect base for a city break.

And for the tastiest snack you’ll ever try, be sure to stop by El Fornet de la Soca. At this artisan bakery, your eyes really do grow bigger than your belly :-)

Their tempting local delicacies are to die for... and that’s an understatement.

The strawberry tart with fresh custard and balsamic vinegar was easily the most delicious pastry I’ve ever tasted! In fact, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it ...
